Important: Private messaging feature has been temporarily disabled due to server-side issue.
It is mandatory to authenticate yourself first when accessing private messages. To setup private messaging for your account:
Click on the message icon at the top-right corner of this page (desktop version).
Enter any password. Make sure to keep a backup of your password in case if you forget it.
Finally type in the username of the person to start a conversation with.
Few things to keep in mind:
It is highly recommended that you use a password different than the one used for login.
- Using a different password adds an extra layer of protection which will not allow any intruder (an unauthorized person) to read your private messages.
If you sign out and sign in again, you will be asked to re-enter the password to access private messages.
- Too many incorrect attempts to gain access to private messages will lead to account getting blocked temporarily/permanently for further verification.
Why separate password?
This is done to protect our users' privacy and to improve our website's security.
No one can read your private messages (not even administrator or moderator) since they are encrypted on the server with your password. Only you can read or access them.
- Your conversations with members of this website are end-to-end encrypted. Please read this article by Surveillance Self-Defense to know more about end-to-end encryption.
No one can reset your private messages' password (not even administrator or moderator) since we don't keep a record of it in our database.
- Please keep your password somewhere safe and secure. No one will be able to assist you with resetting it or help you backup your messages if in case you forget it.
